Five Channel

Swivels

Instech's newest swivel features five fluid channels and torque so low that it can be turned by a mouse. There are two standard models: the MCS/5A with four low-dead-volume channels for dual probe microdialysis and a 22ga channel for infusion or blood sampling, and the MCS/5B with five 22ga channels. All channels are lined to protect neurotransmitters. Contact Instech for custom configurations.

Code MCS/5A  Five channel swivel; 4 x 0.2mm ID, 1 x 22ga channels

Code MCS/5B  Five channel swivel; 5 x 22ga channels

Slice Chambers for Blind Patching & Extracellular Recording

Model 745 Series (E)

Compact and modular; easy to set up, easy to swap between submerged and interface modes. Consistently stable fluid flow and stable temperature.

The Chambers

Manufactured from Plexiglas, or, for pharmacological or toxicological studies chemically inert p.t.f.e. (Teflon®) to avoid adhesion of drugs.

Ag/AgCl reference electrodes included with termination points, easily replaceable

The one, two or four channel chambers can be used either in the classical submerged [Oslo type] or in the air/fluid interface [Haas Type] with humidified atmosphere above the tissue slices.

To convert from submerged to interface type, simply exchange the chamber top plate

Heated water bath has a low noise heating element and gas tube to prevent oxygen loss from perfusate solution.  Holding chamber for incubation of slices until transfer to recording chamber.  Stable Temperature control by dual thermistor feedback from water bath and slice chamber. Ergonomic design for access from either side with  micromanipulators

Starting from Euro 1.500,00

Balances for Dynamic Weighting

animal movement free, strong vibration are filtered out

These scales are particularly useful for measuring animal in movement which can cause vibration to the weighting plate and thus a false result.  Animal weight can be averaged over 5, 10, 20, 50 or 100 measurement carried out very fast in just a few seconds by the electronic circuit in order to ensure a precise final result. These balances can also perform Density Determination of liquids, they are provided with protecting working cover and, moreover, a Draft shield frame can be purchased separately to protect the measurements by wind and environmental agents.  Starting from 1.100 Euro

Dynamic Weighting Balance  PLT 650-3M  Max. load 650 g. – 0,001 g. Resolution

Dynamic Weighting Balance  PLT 2500-2M  Max. load 2,5 Kg. – 0,01 g. Resolution

3100 Incapacitance Tester

an unique device for analgesic and anti-inflammatory test

Dual Weight Averager

(Incapacitance Tester)

A new instrument which offers an automatic and reproducible  assessment of analgesic potency by measuring the weight distribution on the two hind paws of a small animal. The force exerted by each limb (measured in grams) is averaged over a user selectable period thus indicating any tendency for the animal to shift its weight from one side to another, hence providing a quantitative measurement of Incapacitance. The technique of the Dual Weight Averager overcomes a number of deficiences inherent in the traditional method of pain/inflammation assessment by presenting continuous monitoring of both limbs and by eliminating the subjectivity of other instruments.

SECT-ANT

A color Atlas of Sectional Anatomy of the mouse

by Iwaki, Yamashita, Hayakawa

Euro 200,00

The mouse is the most widely used laboratory mammal in biomedical research such as evaluation of the safety and effectiveness of new pharmaceutical products, research in tumor suppression, and vaccine and monoclinal antibody proportional studies. For example, about seven million mice are used for various research projects (JALAS working group in 1995) in Japan alone.

While picture information on the anatomies of humans and companion animals (especially dogs and cats) have been described in detail, so far, descriptions of the anatomy of laboratory mice are insufficient except in atlases of the development of the fetal stages and specific parts of the body (brain, spinal cord, etc.) . Furthermore, we discoverer some mistakes in the mouse anatomy books that were published earlier in Japan. Because of above backgrounds, detailed knowledge of the anatomy of the mouse has become increasingly in demand.
- A wonderful attempt to present specimens as they would appear in the living state, therefore specimens were not treated, in order to obtain photographic information close to the living state.

- The atlas has 55 color pages, 2 pages of black and white macro-anatomical photographs (angiograph) , and 93 pages of color sectional anatomical photographs (sagittai, dorsal and transverse sections) .

- All pages consist of photographs so as to make the detail more comprehensive and three-dimensional than the usual pictorial atlas.
-
The anatomical terms used are in Japanese and English.
