You have heard of the advantages of microchip identification.  Now you can put it to work at your facility using AVID® microchips and scanners...  Each microchip contains a unique number. Think of it as an injectable social security number for the animal. Chip numbers are registered to you upon purchase. Your records will indicate which animal has which chip.

Bulk MicroChips

Laboratory Animal Microtattoo System

It is a quick, efficient and affordable method of permanently identifying laboratory animals (particularly mice as early as 1 day old). Designed and tested by laboratory animal technicians, the system utilizes a hypodermic needle at one end of a stainless steel forceps and a small metal cup containing green tattoo paste at the other side of the forceps. By squeezing the forceps together, the needle penetrates the toe or footpad or ear of the animal and injects a deposit of green tattoo paste in the animal. Plastics Feeding Needles Tubes – Gavage

Plastic rodent feeding needles reduce the risk of trauma and provide a simple, low cost, disposable solution for oral gavage. These feeding tubes feature medical grade materials to minimize the risk of interactions with test compounds. The tube is constructed of polypropylene, the same material used in plastic syringes. The soft, bulb-shaped tip is fabricated from medical grade silicone and is designed to prevent inadvertent placement in the trachea and reduce the risk of trauma and perforation.   Sterile, single packed.

Parafilm

Parafilm M® is a semi-transparent, flexible thermoplastic. Many unique properties make it ideal and adaptable for numerous laboratory uses and techniques. It molds and seals tightly around test tubes, flasks and irregular surfaces. It is moisture-proof, impervious to aqueous solutions, and protects anhydrous materials. When stretched, Parafilm M® increases lengthwise approximately 200%. Yet when tension is removed, film only partially returns to original length.  The Dispenser/Cutter accommodates either 4" or 2" wide rolls, and a quick downward push cleanly cuts at the desired length.
